Allen was a fabulous tour guide. He had extensive historical knowledge of the events in Taiwan, the Taroko culture and of the events around the Gorge itself. He also provided updates on what parts of the Gorge were open following the recent earthquakes and landslides which was incredibly helpful. Allen’s English was very impressive and made the tour even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!
We visited the Taroko Gorge with Allen T and had the most memorable day! It was such a fun day with absolutely breathtaking scenery!! Allen was so knowledgeable and shared so much information with us. His English was fantastic and we had an amazing small group. The food from the local restaurant was a highlight! We loved it so much we booked the rivers and valley tour two days later. Again, it was an outstanding and different tour. Allen took us to a local indigenous restaurant and the food was amazing!! So delicious and different! We loved the care and attention and recommend these tours to everyone!
My husband and I had a fantastic tour to Taroko Gorge led by Alan! He was very enthusiastic, informative, and passionate about the places he showed us. He took us to all of the sites at the perfect times to avoid crowds. We had ample time to stop for pictures and to soak in the beautiful views. The small group size was perfect. We would definitely recommend this tour and come again in the future!

I was nervous about navigating Taiwan on my own but Iris made everything so easy. She even helped me practice some Mandarin phrases during the drive. The Sakul Trail waterfall hike was the perfect way to end the day. Such a thoughtful guide.

Outstanding tour of Taroko with Allen!

Exploring Taroko with Allen was great! He was very knowledgeable, kind, engaging, and made us feel safe in the Taroko gorge. We learned so much about the local culture, history, and Geography. It was excellent!
Traveling with our two kids (ages 9 and 12), we were worried about keeping them engaged. Iris was AMAZING with them. She turned the whole day into an adventure, teaching them about the geology and local wildlife. The waterfall hike at the end was their favorite part.
We almost booked a big bus tour but so glad we found Island Life instead! Santa was our guide and his energy was infectious. The stop at Qixingtan Beach in the morning set the tone for an incredible day. Small group size made all the difference.
Jimmy made this tour unforgettable. His knowledge of the Truku culture and history of the gorge brought everything to life. The early start meant we had the trails practically to ourselves. Worth every penny.
I specifically wanted to avoid the crowds to get good shots. Jimmy totally delivered. We were at each spot before the buses arrived. Got some incredible photos at Cimu Bridge with perfect light. This guy knows his stuff.
Visited the NP in October 2025 and we had a very nice day with Allen.

We had an amazing experience on this tour. Iris is so caring and friendly. She takes time to explain everything. We had a wonderful day with good food and an incredible view in the national park.
